All parents want to give their children only the best. Kids' life starts from the house and their room that is why it is extremely important to make it comfortable and cozy. Windows are the eyes of the room, depending on the windows kid's room will or will not be full of light, warmth and fresh air. Here we created an inforaphic for you to help you select the right windows for your kid's room!
If you are considering replacement windows, then you might want to know which types of windows are best for use in kids' rooms. Fortunately, there are plenty of different tips out there to help you decide. Things like your kids' ages, the heights of the windows, and even the size of the room all come into play. For the most part, though, single hung windows are always a great choice.
Why You Can't Go Wrong with Single Hung Windows
When it comes to a child's room, single hung windows are usually the number one choice. These are classic, they allow plenty of light, and the bottom sash opens up to allow for ventilation. However, if you have some concern about your child opening and climbing out of the window, then you can purchase special safety covers for the locks. Single slider windows are great alternatives; these simply slide to the side rather than up and down, but purchasing lock covers for this window style is a little difficult.
What about Casement Windows?
In some cases, you may prefer casement windows for your child's room, particularly if you need maximum ventilation. However, these are not preferable in very small kids' rooms since they can pose a few safety risks for small fingers. They seal tightly, however, and they come with foldable handles to promote easy use. If you have older kids and a need for ventilation, then casement windows are a great choice.
Double Hung Windows are the Next Big Trend
Although the classic single hung window is the most popular in homes around the world, double hung windows are gaining ground. You can open the bottom sash, the top sash, or both as you choose. These let in a ton of light to illuminate even the largest rooms, and if you want lots of ventilation without compromising your child's safety, then you can simply open the top sash while leaving the bottom closed, thereby keeping your child safe and sound while providing plenty of fresh air.
Bay Windows for a Decorative Touch
Bay windows are also beautiful in an older child's room where you do not have to worry about little fingers. When you incorporate them into the design of the room, you can create a beautiful reading nook that your child can enjoy, or create a viewing station by setting up a telescope. This type of window does a great job of allowing light to stream into the room from many different angles during the day, and it offers up the next best thing to being outdoors if your child is a fan of the sun. Even when it rains, he or she can still enjoy the outdoors without ever leaving the comfort of his or her room. Bay windows have plenty of exterior appeal, too.
As you can see, choosing windows for kids' rooms depends a lot on their age and the amount of safety you need. Single hung and double hung windows both offer lots of safety, while casement windows and single slider windows promote more airflow.
We just wanted to write to say thanks because the window quality is great and your helpful craftsman and professional installers made the entire experience wonderful. We only wish we could have this experience with all of our renovation projects.
We recently moved to our new house and needed to do some repairs and renovations. Your company was recommended by our very pleased friends. The windows look amazing and the installation job Richard did was first class.
It’s not everyday that I take the time to email a contractor… but my wife insisted! You guys did a great job and you kept it quick and quiet. We’ve got a newborn who sleeps often and your man did a good job not waking her up. Cheers.
We had done our share of research before finally deciding to go with your company and we must say that EuroSeal really had the greatest value. Guess we can chalk it up to working with a manufacturer.
It is our pleasure to say thanks for a great job done by your company. Luke and his colleague did a lovely job and they were very well mannered. It was a pleasure having them around.
We especially appreciated the help of your craftsman in choosing the appropriate style and colour for our first home. In the end, the windows look beautiful and I’m extremely happy with how easy they are to clean.
We damaged one of the external hinges a month ago, and your company’s prompt and efficient handling of the service call was impressive! We appreciate how quickly your company sent over a representative to fix the problem.
